Property aplenty for those who can afford it
When one talks about residential accommodation and particularly at the hedonistic end of the market, it seems that in South Africa property developments are proceeding at a pace not that unlike what was experienced before the recession that began a couple of years back. Much of the building is continuing to take place around golf courses or in the country’s wide open spaces where getting back to nature is a main attraction.
The Kingswood Golf Estate in George with its Sally Little golf course and luxury townhouses as well as tailored homes is creating its fair share of the buzz on the Garden Route. And when it comes to prime property in KwaZulu-Natal, it doesn’t take long before people get around to talking about Zimbali, a stylish, elegant resort on the coast that includes two golf courses and an estate comprising hotels, freehold homes and sectional title units.
In the Cape, sales are underway at the 5 Star L’Ermitage Franschhoek Chateau and Villas. And south of the winelands’ culinary capital, Elgin Village outside Grabouw presents an opportunity for those in search of an idyllic retirement home or a holiday getaway destination in the wonderful, tree-lined Elgin Valley as famous for its orchards as it is for its vineyards.
Up north, near Malelane in Mpumalanga, the luxurious river lodges of the Mjejane Game Reserve in the Kruger National Park are sure to attract the attention or the affluent investor.
These to name but a few…
